Our Christmas Eve found us grateful for the amazing doctors and technology in our world. Our sweet little Gracie had a hole in her heart surgically closed by the amazing and world-renowned Dr. Reddy. So far she has been recovering well and the benefits of eliminating the hole have been immediately apparent. Now she can comfortably lay on her tummy and you can see that her color looks amazing. Her sweet blond hair just keeps growing. Everyone, even the cardio team, tell us how cute she is. We agree. This was the best Christmas present we could have asked for. Hopefully we can hold her soon!

“Little” brother Emmett is also doing well. He has learned to open his eyes wide (though his sister beat him to the punch) and loves being held by mom and dad. Emmett has had his first taste of “real food” (breast milk) and so far has been digesting it well. The result has been some stinky diapers! (a good thing).

We are the very proud parents of two tiny and precious twins who joined us Thursday, December 11 at 3:49 pm.

Baby A: Grace Anne, 1.5 lbs
Baby B: Emmett Steven, 2.5 lbs

Both are under the care of the an amazing team of doctors, and mom is recovering well and back at home. While the wires may look scary, they are both doing well and progressing a little each day. Please send good thoughts their way and share in our joy of these two amazing little people.

While we never imagined that 2008 would be our babies’ first Christmas, we are encouraged by their astrological sign:
